We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Engineer to join our new and growing team and lead our technical design process for offshore wind foundations. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering foundation design solutions to clients in the offshore wind industry and contribute to the internal development of our cutting-edge design process.
Your goal is to establish a technical foundation design process which includes feasibility, concept, pre-FEED, and FEED stages. You will have the opportunity to create new business ventures and build your own team in collaboration with our Business Manager.
Your responsibilities
- Designing primary steel/hybrid (steel-concrete) structures for mainly fixed and possibly floating offshore wind turbine foundations.
- Collaborating with the structural ship design and consulting team to support renewable energy projects across fixed and floating foundation portfolio.
- Applying programming skills and/or finite element capabilities to develop designs or build new models providing a state-of-the-art product to the client.
- Preparing engineering reports and analyses.
- CAPEX estimation of different designs.
- Client project communication and building a network within the industry.
- Developing internal knowledge of design standards and local requirements.
- Providing expert guidance regarding the design of offshore substructures, including structural layout, soil anchoring/fixing method, construction, installation, and decommissioning.
What we expect from you
- MSc in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or in a field relevant to wind energy or structural engineering field.
- Proven experience in leading project teams (internal and external) and design processes.
- Insight into what it takes to design, analyze, and document an offshore substructure according to the prevailing codes in the offshore industry.
- Experience with finite element analysis of structural parts.
- Experience in the Offshore Wind Industry or marine structures.
- Fluent English skills; knowledge of Finnish and/or Swedish is a plus.
- Coding skills in Matlab/Python or other transferable language and/or experience with foundation design applications.
- Willingness to work in an international environment.
